aka, welcome to capitalism.
the platform uses 2 billion active daily users as it’s main selling point, but a lot of these users are bots. it doesn’t like the bots, but can’t get rid of the bots without affecting it’s bottom line, so instead of that, it does a lot to restrict what it considers to be bot behaviors.
there are daily limits for things like likes, follows, comments, messages, and more. please look up what they are because they do change and idk when ppl will read this. the most important parts of this to understand are
there are hourly limits within the daily limits.
how these affect your account can vary based on how old your account is, and other flags/violations on your account.
there are also certain keywords in comments—ie, like, comment, share, etc—that can cause your comment to be immediately removed, and this exactly why.
if you know someone in gaza whose account was deleted/suspended, then yes, combined with a biased algorithm, all this is exactly why.

@mentions are a double-edged sword and using too many per hour/day will also get your account restricted.
if you have noticed this happening to you specifically more than other people, you're not crazy lol, it probably is, the app treats people differently just to make it harder for folks to catch on to their bs sometimes.
don't tag people unless you really actually need to… for literally the foreseeable future, unfortunately; these silent penalties can easily last over a year.
(instead of tagging all 20 ppl for visibility, remember you can also send it to some in dms.)

QR CODES!!!!!!
i was once super into qr codes myself as a way to dodge typing a url that no one can click that also just looks like crap lol. yeah, these can also get you flagged as spam, unfortunately. i still think they're great in other instances—ie on flyers or in zines, irl, on printed materials—but not on any fuckerberg™️ apps.
lastly, the phrase “mutual aid” is often restricted and the app hides these posts on purpose because we live in hell, sorry.
